Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How do I join the Convention?
A. Click on the "Live Broadcast" link on the top navigation bar, then click on "Launch Broadcast" at the bottom of the page.

Q.  Why is the "Launch Broadcast" button disabled?
A. The button will be enabled when the Convention opens at 7:30 AM. Refresh the page to update the button at that time.

Q. Why isn’t the email address I’m using working to log in?
A. You should log in with the same email address used to register for the Convention.

Q. I'm trying to log in using my member ID, but it doesn't work.
A. You should log in using the password you setup during Convention registration, not your member ID.

Q. I forgot my password. What do I do?
A. Click the "forgot your password?" on the login page. You will need to enter the email you used to register for the Convention. You will receive an email with a link to reset your password. If you don't receive an email after a couple of seconds, please check your spam folder.

Q. I launched the live broadcast and my request to speak and voting buttons are grayed out. What should I do?
A. These buttons will remain disabled until a topic is open for debate, or a vote window is opened. If the buttons remain disabled during these interactive periods click on the “Technical Support“ button for assistance.

Q. Why don't I see any request to speak or voting buttons on my page?
A. Only Delegates, or Alternates serving as Delegates, have access to these controls, not Alternate Delegates or guests. If you believe you should have access, please contact ConventionHelp@nysna.org

Q. Why isn’t the video playing on the screen?
A. Click the play button in the middle of the screen. If you are having trouble, try refreshing the page. Should you require assistance, please use the "Technical Support" button on the bottom right of the window.

Q. Why am I not hearing any sound in the video?
A. Make sure the volume on your device is turned on. You should also check the volume button on the video player and make adjustments as necessary.  

Q. I need subtitles for my video. How do I turn those on?
A. On the video screen there is an option to turn on subtitles in the bottom right corner of the video player. 

Q. Can I pause the video?
A. Yes. You can pause the video, but we do not suggest that you do so.  When you pause you may miss important Convention business and votes. If you pause, you can resume watching the broadcast. However, keep in mind that when you resume, you will be connected to the live broadcast and will not be able to replay the portion of the event missed.

Q. What happens with voting if I pause the video?
A. If the vote period has ended before you have resumed the video, you will miss the opportunity to vote. 

Q. I have a question about how the event website works. Who do I ask?
A. If you have any issues or questions about the event website, click the “Technical Support” button to chat with a team member who can assist you.
